Thomas Schirrmacher discusses the situation of Christians in Papua New Guinea with Bishop Lindsley Ihove
Meeting in Canterbury, the Secretary General of WEA had a prolonged discussed with a good friend from Papua New Guinea, The Right Revd Lindsley Ihove. Since 2011 he is the Anglican Bishop of the Oro Province (formerly known as the Northern Province) seated in its capital Popondetta, covering a large part of upper coast of the long nose of the Papuan half insula.
Before this, Bishop Ihove was the Director of Mission and Evangelism for the Diocese of Popondetta. This is why reaching all the many languages and tribes Papua New Guinea with the gospel was the center of the discussion, even though it also included political topics like fighting the endemic corruption and connected to, climate creation care, as corruption is the biggest threat to the tropical rain forest, which is still intact more then anywhere else in the world.
