The Associate Secretary General of the World Evangelical Alliance responsible for inter-church relations congratulated His Holiness Abune Mathias, Patriarch of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church, on the reconciliation and reunification of the previously divided church and on the many steps towards reconciliation in the state.
The Associate Secretary General of the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA) has now personally expressed his belated congratulation to Ibrahim Azar, Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land (ELKJHL), based in the Church of the Redeemer in Jerusalem, on his new ministry and wished him God’s blessing and wisdom for his difficult task as a mediator.
The Chairman of the Central Council of Oriental Christians and Associate Secretary General of the World Evangelical Alliance, Thomas Schirrmacher, was received by the head of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Catholicos Karekin II, for an audience with his wife, the Bonn Islamic scholar Christine Schirrmacher, after they had commemorated the 1.5 million victims of the Armenian genocide from 1915 in the Genocide Memorial Complex Tsitsernakaberd in Yerevan.
The Associate Secretary General of the World Evangelical Alliance has given the annual ecumenical Bishop’s sermon on the persecution of Christians in the cathedral of Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate (Bavaria), which has been held since 2014.
