The Free Democratic Party (Freie Demokratische Partei, or FDP) politician Hermann Otto Solms has aptly written in Die WELT:

“The government artificially creates conflicts in order to argue in public. That’s just embarrassing. You really don’t have to be surprised about the frustration with politics.”

May I change the sentence since it appears in an organ that is part of the press:

The media artificially creates conflicts in order to argue in public. That’s just embarrassing. You really don’t have to be surprised about the frustration with the press.

In his statements about politicians, Solms is referring to the grand coalition, which he maintains is a kindergarten. Isn’t the media’s “grand coalition,” which often reports on controversial topics in a way that is barely distinguishable from each other, also often a large kindergarten?
